I couldn’t be fucked to actually write about fashion month like a month late so here are all the ideas that I’ve been thinking about from this last month that I made into an outline but never actually finished

INTRO: the state of things, distractions 

Rant on Epstein Files do NOT ask me about the grand distraction du jour you mean to tell me that rich people have a wide-spread conspiracy to harm children yeah of course they do everyone is constantly in the rat race like Spy v. Spy. Everyone is trying to trick one another and like throw them down a manhole or smash them with an anvil that’s the game of powerrrr you don’t want anyone else to have it. In real life with wealth that immense the stakes get higher instead of cartoon mice antics there’s a pedophilia conspiracy where people are brought in, lied to, photographed, and then blackmailed. Literally like what happened to Eric Tao in Industry season 4. If we as the general public know about it that’s by design. We see the fall guys on a list of who was on the island and now we’re all arguing about it are you fucking kidding me I have watched too many cartoons from the ’50s and ’60s to fall for this shit

 

Counterargument: we can’t be like “how dare you care about this one thing when there is this objectively other horrible thing happening concurrently” because, like, welcome to being alive. And as an American listen if I really felt that bad about the black/white of imperialism I would have successfully killed myself already. But what I feel the need to point out is the fact that there are things being leveraged as genuine threats to everyday people, that really only serve as manifestations of the ego, and feeling like you’ve cracked some code, (ie Epstein). Do not ask me about that shit. I have nothing to say about the convenient distraction being levied against us so we do not pay attention to ICE and the ongoing attack on trans people.

 

Proving we can indeed care about two things at the same time, in between being scared and pissed I have been doing my job and also paying attention to fashion month, which was overall fab. 

 

Talk about how everyone is mad about people being skinny again (which is ok) but I yearn for a time when people are not so freaked out by other people’s bodiessss I just wanna live forever and I love a bad bitch period idc what the shape of her body is if it’s tea it’s tea. 

 

Talk about how the Elena Velez show kinda had the smartest way of getting ahead of that by putting Clavicular in her show…queen of irreverence, is it annoying, sure, and that’s like the point and there is a level of wit that it takes to actively make people hate you so much they actually think. I don’t think a lot of EV critics understand what being an actual countercultural goth is, it’s like Elena is always in pursuit of evil as the backbone for her work so this choice makes sense? It is the natural response to what we are doing to ourselves in the same way the Gone With The Wind salon-show that y’all willfully misunderstood was? Idk I feel like I see the vision. Maybe it’s because I actually talked to Elena instead of being weird first but that’s a conversation a lot of you don’t want to have so…end here

CONCLUSION: End on idea from Love & Happiness by Zoe Dubno like passing judgement on how people compartmentalize is moot because for all of us to justify living we already have to negotiate so many different contradictions like if we really wanted logic to be that black and white again from the beginning the only conclusion to logic that absolute is suicide…which, please don’t do that. Idk I’m not worried about your choices I’m focused on the material conditions of people in general attenuated by global tensions and threats I’m just here for all y’all idk.
